Turning 40 was the Best!

Turning 40 was amazing! Surprising me isn’t an easy task, going to Longboat Key, Fl was a huge surprise. All I knew was I was going on a trip and what to pack! Being a control freak I thought it would bother me but truthfully it didn’t. Not knowing who was coming or what we were doing added to the excitement.

7am was my pick up time and my first surprise was then, I have no blue Lindsey was coming. Jill, Kendall, Mom, Lindsey and I were off to the airport. Knowing Aunt Sherry was coming I kept looking around to see where she was. Turned out Aunt Sherry and Shannan were running late and missed out flight!

We got to the resort early and waited on Sherry and Shannan. While waiting we enjoyed lunch by the pool and enjoyed the view. Lunch was really good, the drinks were really good, but the best part was the company.

Lindsey is missing in action for this photo.

We got to our room and oh the views! Even at the elevator there was a view. When asked “What do you want to do for your 40th birthday”, my response was “See blue water”. We for sure got to see blue water. Temperature was perfect, light breeze and salty air.

This was from the elevator

On my actual birthday I was told we could to whatever I wanted to do. We went to the beach, laid out by the pool, laughed, had drinks and then went to dinner. Our waiter couldn’t have been any better. He was so good that when we left something there he brought it to us after he got off work.

Beach life is really the life for me. There isn’t a care in the world and I can actually breath. At less than a week old my family was at the beach. Laying out isn’t why I love the beach because it is very hard for me to just lay there and bake. Listening to the ocean, being in the salt water, just the salty air centers me and makes me calm.

Smiles are genuine and my heart is always completely happy. Having some of the best ladies in my life made it even better. Joy is the best description word I can find to explain how I was feeling. Even though my life wasn’t perfect these days I didn’t let things I couldn’t control bother me.

Yet Another Surprise!

Heather, my cousin couldn’t make the trip to Longboat key due to COVID. I completely understood why because she is pregnant and couldn’t risk traveling. Unbeknownst to me she had been planning a surprise party the whole time. We planned to have lunch since she couldn’t make the trip. Lunch was had along with another surprise!

Thankful Doesn’t Begin to Explain.

My Mom and Aunt Sherry are two of the greatest women I have ever met. There aren’t enough words to explain how thankful for them I am. Planning my surprise 40th birthday trip was one of the million reasons why I am thankful for them. I am thankful that no matter what I do they will always welcome me with loving open arms.
